Terms of Sale
Last updated: July 30, 2026
These Terms of Sale apply to purchases made from Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth through our website, by telephone, at a market or event, or through another approved ordering method.
By placing an order, the customer agrees to these Terms of Sale and to the applicable Pickup Policy, Delivery Policy, Missed Pickup Policy, Allergen Notice, and Cottage Food Notice.
Orders and Acceptance
Submitting an order does not guarantee acceptance. An order is accepted when payment has been successfully processed and Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth provides an order confirmation.
We may decline or cancel an order because of:
- Product unavailability
- An incorrect price or product description
- A payment problem
- A delivery-address problem
- Production limitations
- Equipment failure
- Illness or food-safety concerns
- Severe weather or unsafe travel conditions
- Suspected fraud or misuse of the website
If we cancel a paid order, the amount paid for the canceled items will be refunded.
Availability
Products are made in limited batches and may sell out. Availability may change without notice.
Placing an item in a shopping cart does not reserve that item. The item is reserved only after checkout has been completed and the order has been accepted.
Prices and Payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Applicable taxes, delivery charges, and other fees will be displayed during checkout.
Full payment is generally required when an order is placed unless another arrangement has been confirmed in writing.
If a product is displayed with an obvious pricing or description error, we may cancel the item and refund the amount paid or contact the customer for approval before proceeding.
Order Changes and Cancellations
Customers may request a change or cancellation before the ordering deadline shown for the applicable bake date.
After that deadline, ingredients may have been purchased and production may have begun. Orders canceled after the deadline are therefore not normally eligible for a refund.
We will consider reasonable change requests, but product, quantity, pickup, or delivery changes are not guaranteed after an order has been submitted.
Returns, Refunds, and Quality Concerns
Because food products cannot be restocked or resold after leaving our control, sales are generally final.
A refund, replacement, or store credit may be appropriate when:
- The wrong product was provided
- A paid item was missing
- The product was materially damaged before pickup or delivery
- The product was clearly defective because of an error in our preparation
- Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth canceled or failed to fulfill the order
Quality concerns should be reported within 24 hours of pickup or delivery. Please include the order number, a description of the problem, and photographs when relevant.
Personal taste preferences, normal variation in handmade products, failure to retrieve a delivery promptly, improper storage, or a missed pickup generally do not qualify for a refund.
Handmade Product Variation
Porter Abbot products are mixed, shaped, baked, and packaged in small batches. Natural differences in grain, fruit, honey, fermentation, weather, and baking conditions may result in reasonable variation in color, shape, height, texture, or appearance.
Such variation is part of a handmade product and does not necessarily indicate a defect.
Ingredients and Allergens
Customers are responsible for reviewing the product description, ingredient information, package label, and Allergen Notice before purchasing or consuming a product.
Customers with allergies, celiac disease, food sensitivities, dietary restrictions, or medical concerns should contact Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth before ordering.
We cannot guarantee that products will be free from allergens or cross-contact unless that guarantee is specifically provided in writing for the particular product.
Pickup and Delivery
The customer is responsible for selecting the correct fulfillment method and reviewing the corresponding policy.
Responsibility for the product transfers to the customer when the order is collected, handed to the customer or representative, or delivered to the address and location provided with the order.
Website Information
We try to keep product descriptions, photographs, ingredients, pricing, availability, and scheduling information accurate. Minor errors or omissions may occasionally occur.
Product photographs are representative and may not show the exact product the customer receives.
Customer Information
Customers must provide accurate contact, billing, pickup, and delivery information. We are not responsible for problems caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied with an order.
Information collected through the website is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
Applicable Law
These Terms of Sale are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without limiting any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Changes to These Terms
Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth may update these Terms of Sale as the business, website, fulfillment methods, or legal requirements change. The version posted when an order is placed will apply to that order.
