Allergen Notice
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Please review allergen and ingredient information carefully before ordering or consuming a Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth product.
Federal law recognizes nine major food allergens: milk, eggs, fish, Crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.
Allergens in Porter Abbot Products
Most Porter Abbot breads, muffins, and other baked goods contain wheat and egg.
Depending on the recipe and the ingredients supplied by other manufacturers, an individual product may also contain or include ingredients derived from:
- Milk
- Soy
- Peanuts
- Tree nuts
- Sesame
Tree nuts, when intentionally used, will be identified by their specific type whenever possible.
The ingredient list and “Contains” statement on the individual product page and package provide the most specific allergen information for that product.
Shared Home Kitchen and Equipment
Porter Abbot Mill & Hearth operates from a residential home kitchen. Ingredients are milled, mixed, baked, cooled, and packaged using shared areas, utensils, surfaces, storage spaces, and equipment.
Although reasonable cleaning and food-handling practices are followed, the kitchen is not an allergen-free facility, and cross-contact may occur.
Wheat and Gluten
Unless a product is expressly identified otherwise, Porter Abbot baked goods contain wheat and gluten.
Our current milling, preparation, and baking environment is not suitable for producing foods represented as gluten-free. People with celiac disease, wheat allergy, or serious gluten sensitivity should not assume that any Porter Abbot product is safe for them.
Severe Food Allergies
Customers with severe or life-threatening food allergies should exercise particular caution. We may not be able to accommodate an allergy-related special request or guarantee that a product has not experienced cross-contact.
Please contact us before placing an order if you have questions about a product, ingredient, supplier sub-ingredient, or preparation method.
Ingredient Changes
Ingredient brands and suppliers may occasionally change. A substitution may introduce a different sub-ingredient or allergen statement even when the basic recipe remains the same.
Always review the label supplied with the product rather than relying solely on information from a previous purchase.
